Hanalei Bay Beach, 6 x 8 oil
Past the town of Hanalei, there are pullouts along the road. A short walk brings you to this golden beach at the north end of the bay. The hotels and jetskis are far away across this big circular bay. Here we can snorkel in peace. And hidden among the coral hummocks are many tiny eels.
As a plein air painter, I spend many contented hours sitting in some inspiring spot with the sights and sounds of the outdoors, capturing my impressions of light and color. Back in the studio, these works expand, recreating a particular place in a special moment.
